Get everyone in and connected before your team starts using Lindy. The owner or an admin sends the invites, then each teammate accepts and connects their tools. It takes about five minutes per person.

## Part 1: Invite Your Team (Owners and Admins)

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Members">
    Click **Invite colleague** in the top right, or go to **Settings → Members and groups** and click **Add member**.

    <Frame>
      <img src="https://mintcdn.com/lindyai/eVBuKqnd3WwRIxwN/lindy-brand-assets/teammate/members-add-member-v2.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=eVBuKqnd3WwRIxwN&q=85&s=f92701ea313f846a49acdb34e27a3ea9" alt="The Members and groups page with member count, credits, and next billing period, a Members tab listing four teammates with their roles and credits, and the Add member button next to the search bar" width="1920" height="1902" data-path="lindy-brand-assets/teammate/members-add-member-v2.png" />
    </Frame>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add their details">
    * Type an **email address** and press **Space** to add it, then the next. You can also paste a whole list at once. Use the email each person works from every day.
    * Pick a **role**: Member or Admin
    * Pick a **plan**: Plus, Pro, or Max

    | Plan | Price | Credits it adds to the pool |
    | - | - | - |
    | **Plus** | \$30/mo per user | 3,000 |
    | **Pro** | \$100/mo per user | 15,000 |
    | **Max** | \$200/mo per user | 35,000 |

    Enterprise isn't offered here: it's a custom plan, so [contact us](mailto:support@lindy.ai) instead. See [Pricing](/pricing) for what each plan includes.

    </Frame>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send the invites">
    Click **Send invite**. Each person gets an email from Lindy, their plan is added to your workspace billing, and your shared credit pool grows to match.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Let your team know what's coming">
    Most teammates hear about Lindy for the first time in the invite email. A short note from you first helps. Copy this into Slack or email:

    <div className="gray-box">
      ```text theme={null}
      Hey team! I just invited you to Lindy, our new AI employee. It lives in our Slack, connects to our tools, and handles work like email, meetings, and research.
      Look for an invite email from Lindy. Before we get started, please:
      1. Click "Accept invite" in that email (don't sign up separately at lindy.ai)
      2. Connect your email and calendar
      3. Connect and verify your phone number
      Then find Lindy in Slack and say hi. Setup guide: https://docs.lindy.ai/start-here/team-setup#part-2-accept-and-connect-everyone
      ```
    </div>
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Part 2: Accept and Connect (Everyone)

<Steps>
  <Step title="Accept your invite">
    Open the email that says you were invited to join your team's workspace in Lindy, and click **Accept invite**. Sign in with Google or Microsoft.

    <div className="blue-box">
      <Warning>
        **Don't sign up separately at lindy.ai.** That creates a separate workspace, so you won't be on your team's account and won't share its skills, files, or meetings.
      </Warning>
    </div>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect email, calendar, and phone">
    These connections are what let Lindy do the work, not just answer questions:

    | Connect | What it unlocks |
    | - | - |
    | **Email** | Urgent mail flagged and replies drafted, all in your daily brief |
    | **Calendar** | Meetings prepped and recorded, action items summarized, follow-through handled |
    | **Phone** | Lindy texts you when something matters, and you can text it a task from anywhere |

    You'll verify your phone with a code. See [iMessage & SMS](/features/imessage-sms) for details.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Try it">
    Ask for something real:

    <div className="prompt-list">
      <div className="prompt-row"><Icon icon="envelope" size={14} /><span>“What's urgent in my email?”</span></div>
      <div className="prompt-row"><Icon icon="chart-line" size={14} /><span>“Pull up our top competitors.”</span></div>
      <div className="prompt-row"><Icon icon="user-plus" size={14} /><span>“Find me new leads.”</span></div>
      <div className="prompt-row"><Icon icon="reply" size={14} /><span>“Start following up with people who haven't answered me this week.”</span></div>
      <div className="prompt-row"><Icon icon="file-lines" size={14} /><span>“Always put my meeting notes in \[this doc].”</span></div>
    </div>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Bring your context (optional)">
    Carry over what ChatGPT or Claude already knows so Lindy gets to know you faster. Paste this prompt there, then share whatever you'd like Lindy to know:

    <div className="gray-box">
      ```text theme={null}
      Summarize everything you know about me, my preferences, and how I like to work so I can onboard my new AI assistant.
      ```
    </div>
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Quick Fixes

| Problem | Fix |
| - | - |
| **No invite email** | Check spam, or ask your owner which email address they used. |
| **Phone already in use** | Email [support@lindy.ai](mailto:support@lindy.ai) and we'll free it up. |
| **Signed up separately by mistake** | Email [support@lindy.ai](mailto:support@lindy.ai) and we'll move you to your team's workspace. |

## If Your Team Uses Slack

An owner or admin needs to install Lindy in Slack first. Until then, teammates won't find Lindy when they search Slack. See [Set up Lindy](/teammate/setup) for the install steps.

Once it's installed, anyone can also add themselves just by talking to it. No admin step, and no invite to wait for. A seat joined this way is billed after a free first week.

<Steps>
  <Step title="They @mention Lindy, or send it a DM">
    The first time, Lindy doesn't answer yet. It replies with a single DM containing a **Connect Slack to Lindy** button.
  </Step>

  <Step title="They tap Connect">
    They confirm while signed in to Lindy, which binds their Slack identity to their Lindy account. If they don't have one, Lindy creates it under your workspace.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Their original message runs">
    The message that started it all is replayed automatically once they're linked, so nothing is lost.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<div className="blue-box">
  <Note>
    **Admins stay in the loop.** Every admin gets an email when someone joins this way: who they are, that their first week is free, and a one-click link to remove them. If you remove a seat and that person @mentions Lindy again, it tells them it can't help and pings an admin. It won't quietly re-add them.
  </Note>
</div>

For how seats and the shared credit pool work, see [Billing](/teammate/lindy-teammate-billing).

## Managing Members

To manage existing members, go to **Settings → Members and groups**.

### Allocating Credits

Admins and owners can set credit limits for each teammate, capping how many credits they can use each month. Click the **…** menu on a member's row and choose **Edit credit limit**.

<Frame>
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/lindyai/oT4AsoFsQDHf5ck7/lindy-brand-assets/teammate/edit-credit-limit.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=oT4AsoFsQDHf5ck7&q=85&s=dfe4742e33c017ed381255d83746d6ee" alt="The Members table with a row menu open, showing Edit credit limit and Deactivate membership" width="2874" height="2037" data-path="lindy-brand-assets/teammate/edit-credit-limit.png" />
</Frame>

<div className="blue-box">
  <Note>
    We can only stop credit usage after the limit has been exceeded, not at the exact threshold. For example, if a teammate's limit is 100 credits and they've used 90, a task that costs 50 credits will still run to completion, but no further credit usage will be allowed afterward.
  </Note>
</div>

### Transferring Workspace Ownership

Owners are the only ones who can manage the payment method, change the workspace name and logo, and delete the workspace. Owners can transfer ownership by clicking the role dropdown next to a member's or admin's name and changing their role to **Owner**.

<Frame>
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/lindyai/oT4AsoFsQDHf5ck7/lindy-brand-assets/teammate/transfer-ownership.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=oT4AsoFsQDHf5ck7&q=85&s=3b5bed751a895d21ccdfe0788e8795e9" alt="The Members table with a role dropdown open on a member's row, showing the Member, Admin, and Owner options, where Owner reads Transfer ownership of the workspace" width="2592" height="2116" data-path="lindy-brand-assets/teammate/transfer-ownership.png" />
